With over 2 decades of dedicated service at McDowell+Service, Mark is a cornerstone of our technical team. He began his career in the metal department before gaining valuable experience in prosthetics, a journey that provided him with a comprehensive understanding of dental restoration from the ground up.

Today, Mark is one of our premier technicians, specializing in the intricate art of staining and shading zirconia crowns and frameworks. His keen eye for detail ensures every restoration achieves a natural, life-like aesthetic. Beyond his craftsmanship, Mark is highly proficient in CAD/CAM technology and milling, seamlessly blending traditional expertise with the latest digital innovations to deliver precision-fit results for our clients.

Stephen Ginn RDT, MDTA

Senior Dental Technician & Former Managing Director

Stephen Ginn has over 40 years’ experience in dental technology, beginning his career in 1982 with an apprenticeship at PWS Dental Laboratories in Bolton. He qualified in 1987 with full distinctions, achieving the highest results of his year and receiving the prestigious Charles Whitbread Memorial Trophy.

Stephen joined McDowell + Service Dental Laboratory in 1995, relocating to Belfast and specialising in Crown & Bridge work, with a particular interest in implant restorations. In 2000, he became one of the founding shareholders following a management buyout and went on to serve as Managing Director for 25 years.

During his time as Managing Director, Stephen helped guide the laboratory through significant industry changes, including the evolution of digital dentistry, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and service. He is particularly proud that, through a strong collective effort, the team achieved multiple industry accolades.

Now working in a reduced role as a Senior Dental Technician, Stephen continues to contribute his extensive technical experience, particularly in advanced restorative cases. He has a long-standing interest in occlusion and has undertaken advanced training with leading institutions and clinicians. Outside of the laboratory, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and maintaining an active lifestyle
